Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchase Officer to join our procurement team in Sharjah. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing raw materials and production consumables at competitive prices, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high-quality standards. This role requires coordination with suppliers and internal departments to support smooth purchasing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure raw materials and production consumables at competitive rates within set timelines.
• Request and evaluate quotations from suppliers, preparing comparative analysis charts for decision-making.
• Raise Purchase Orders (POs) in line with approved specifications, prices, and delivery schedules.
• Manage supplier documentation including sales contracts and invoices, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Coordinate with Finance to arrange timely issuance of Letters of Credit (LCs) for international orders and post-dated checks (PDCs) for local purchases.
• Monitor order statuses and provide regular updates to relevant departments to facilitate planning and operations.
• Follow up with suppliers to confirm prompt and quality delivery of goods as per agreed terms.
• Maintain and update critical procurement records such as Import LC register, LC priority list, transit tracking, and Raw Material Cost list.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or any related Engineering discipline.
• 1 to 2 years of procurement experience, preferably involving technical items within the Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) industry.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly the procurement modules, to streamline purchasing processes.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is considered an advantage.
