Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer to join GECO (Albatha Engineering Group) for a substation project based in the UAE. This role focuses on the planning, execution, and supervision of civil engineering activities related to substations operating at voltages from 33kV up to 220kV and above. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in foundation works, cable trench installations, and the construction of GIS/AIS buildings, ensuring quality and timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all civil engineering aspects of the substation project, including:

• Overseeing foundation and civil structural works relevant to substation infrastructure
• Supervising the construction of cable trenches and GIS/AIS buildings
• Coordinating with subcontractors and ensuring their work meets project standards
• Implementing quality assurance and control procedures to maintain high engineering standards
• Monitoring project progress and contributing to schedule adherence

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (B.E. or B.Tech)
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in similar civil engineering roles within substation or electrical infrastructure projects
• Hands-on expertise in foundations, trenches, and building structures associated with substations at various voltage levels
• Strong project management skills, including subcontractor supervision and quality control
• Experience working on projects in the UAE or wider GCC region is highly desirable
