Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Bahrain. This role is perfect for candidates who have a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and a keen eye for detail, particularly those with experience in the construction or contracting industry. You will play an essential part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting various accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for managing daily financial transactions, including preparing invoices, payments, and receipts. You will oversee the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, carry out bank and account reconciliations, and maintain petty cash records. The role also involves assisting with month-end and year-end financial closings, preparing detailed financial reports, and ensuring compliance with VAT and other accounting standards. Additionally, you will collaborate with suppliers, clients, and internal teams to resolve accounting issues and provide necessary documentation to auditors.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Having 1 to 3 years of experience in a Junior Accountant or Accounts Assistant position is essential, with prior exposure to the construction or contracting field considered a plus. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, proficiency in handling AP, AR, invoicing, reconciliations, and petty cash management are required. Experience with accounting software such as Tally, ERP systems, and advanced MS Excel skills will be beneficial. Effective communication skills in English and strong organizational abilities are important for success in this role.

Additional Requirements

Candidates must be currently residing in Bahrain and ideally be able to join immediately or within a short notice period. Previous work experience within Bahrain or the wider GCC region will be an added advantage.
