Job Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled Accounts Payable Accountant to join a dynamic team in Dubai, UAE. This role focuses on managing the accounts payable operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices, and maintaining thorough financial records in compliance with company policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will oversee the complete accounts payable cycle. This includes verifying invoice accuracy, ensuring proper documentation, and addressing any discrepancies. You will communicate directly with suppliers to clarify invoice status and resolve issues such as pricing conflicts, missing paperwork, or tax concerns. Collaboration with internal departments—Procurement, Operations, Receiving, and Finance—is crucial to facilitate smooth payment processes. Additionally, reconciling vendor statements, maintaining account records, preparing payments for approval, and issuing remittance advices after payment completion are important duties. You will also contribute to end-of-month closing activities, audits, and financial reporting to support accurate financial management.

Required Skills and Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is essential for this position. Candidates holding a master’s degree or professional accounting certifications will have an advantage. Proficiency with accounting software and financial reporting tools is needed to perform daily tasks efficiently. Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are vital to interact effectively with suppliers and internal teams. The role requires a minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with knowledge of auditing practices and UAE tax regulations. Experience within a marine or energy-focused company will be highly regarded.
