Job Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Accountant to join our expanding retail trading business in the United Arab Emirates. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting functions, ensuring financial accuracy, managing inventory-related accounting tasks, and supporting process improvements using ODOO ERP software. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles combined with practical experience in retail finance.

Key Responsibilities

The Accountant will play a vital role in managing and supervising various financial operations, including:

• Handling daily accounting transactions such as Payment Vouchers, Receipt Vouchers, and Petty Cash Vouchers with assistance from the team.
• Overseeing payroll-related tasks like preparation of salary slips, overtime calculations, and time card verification when needed.
• Maintaining detailed accounting records and supporting documentation in line with audit standards.
• Conducting monthly and quarterly reconciliations of accounts to ensure integrity in financial reporting and ledger management.
• Analyzing financial statements to detect discrepancies or issues that require management scrutiny.
• Assisting with internal and external audits and facilitating audit processes.
• Performing periodic ledger reviews to maintain accurate accounting data.
• Monitoring inventory transactions and reconciling stock records with financial figures.
• Supporting the implementation and documentation of Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
• Collaborating effectively with various departments to align financial activities with company goals.
• Carrying out additional tasks as assigned by senior finance leadership.

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate should bring:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• 2 to 3 years of practical accounting experience within a retail trading environment.
• Proficiency with ODOO ERP software and its application in financial processes.
• In-depth knowledge of inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, and generating accurate financial reports.
• Strong grasp of accounting standards, bookkeeping, and ledger maintenance.
• Excellent analytical abilities combined with problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
• Capability to work independently under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Effective communication and documentation skills to articulate financial information clearly.
• A valid UAE driving license is a plus.
