Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in drilling rig operations to join our team in Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment on drilling rigs to ensure efficient and safe drilling activities.

Key Responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineer will manage and inspect a range of mechanical systems including top drives, draw works, mud pumps, generators, and compressors. The role involves diagnosing mechanical failures promptly to reduce downtime and maintain continuous drilling operations. Additionally, the engineer will oversee preventive maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and Saudi Aramco HSE requirements.

Supervising mechanical technicians and providing hands-on training and technical guidance are essential duties. The engineer will also maintain detailed maintenance records, prepare technical reports, and make recommendations to enhance equipment performance and reliability. Managing spare parts inventory and contributing to budgeting and cost control activities are part of the role as well. Support during rig mobilization and demobilization, including equipment installation, will be expected.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant mechanical experience on drilling rigs, including a minimum of 2 years working in Saudi Arabia.
• Strong understanding of drilling rig machinery and maintenance protocols.
• Fluent communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is advantageous.
• Possession of a valid Saudi Iqama or transferable sponsorship is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to rotational shift patterns at remote locations.
