Job Overview

Averroës Academy in Riyadh is inviting applications for an experienced Accounting Teacher to educate middle and senior grade students. This role involves teaching both online and on-campus classes, focusing on delivering clear and practical lessons in accounting and related business subjects. The ideal candidate will combine strong accounting knowledge with effective teaching skills, fostering a productive and engaging learning atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

The teacher will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging lessons that cover accounting, finance, and business topics tailored to various grade levels. They will create comprehensive lesson plans, including presentations and financial models, to support student understanding. Regular assessments such as quizzes, tests, and assignments will be prepared and graded to monitor progress. Additionally, the teacher will offer academic support through extra help sessions and exam preparation, while maintaining classroom discipline to ensure a safe and respectful learning environment. Proficiency in using digital tools like accounting software, spreadsheets, and learning management systems is essential. Collaboration with fellow faculty members to enhance teaching approaches is also expected. Practical learning exercises, including ledger practices, financial statement preparations, budgeting projects, and other hands-on activities, will form a key part of the teaching process.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Applicants must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, with a preference for candidates possessing a Master’s degree. A minimum of two years teaching experience in accounting or business subjects is required. Excellent command of English is needed to clearly communicate complex concepts. The candidate should demonstrate solid expertise in financial accounting, cost accounting, bookkeeping, and the preparation of financial statements. Competence with digital teaching tools, including spreadsheets and online learning platforms, is necessary for effective instruction.

Preferred Experience

Successful candidates will have a deep understanding of accounting principles such as accounting cycles, ledgers, trial balances, and the basics of auditing. Effective teaching involves simplifying challenging topics to ensure students fully grasp the material. Experience in designing assessments that align with academic standards is important. The role also demands proficiency in digital literacy to conduct online classes and manage digital coursework. Strong communication skills that are student-friendly combined with professionalism, punctuality, and a supportive attitude towards learners are crucial to succeed in this role.
