Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced LV Switchgear Estimation Engineer to join our team in Riyadh. This role involves preparing detailed tender documents and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for low voltage switchgear projects, ensuring accurate cost estimation and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering with hands-on experience in LV switchgear systems.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties include analyzing client specifications, Single Line Diagrams (SLD), and architectural drawings to develop precise material take-offs and comprehensive cost breakdowns for project tenders. You will select relevant electrical components such as breakers, relays, and contactors from leading manufacturers like ABB, Siemens, Schneider, and Eaton.

Additionally, this role requires managing vendor communications by issuing inquiries, evaluating technical and commercial quotations, and negotiating pricing to obtain competitive rates. Ensuring that all technical and commercial proposals adhere to local regulatory standards, including IEC and local utility codes, is crucial. The position also entails applying value engineering principles to identify cost-effective design alternatives without compromising quality or safety.

Collaboration is vital in this role. You will work closely with the design, procurement, and project execution teams to ensure a seamless transition once contracts are awarded.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 2 to 5+ years of experience with LV switchgear projects, including Main Distribution Boards (MDB), Sub Main Distribution Boards (SMDB), Distribution Boards (DB), Motor Control Centers (MCC), Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), and Capacitor Banks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD is essential.
• Experience with specialized electrical design software such as ETAP, Ecodial, or EPLAN is preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical standards and local regulations.
