Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Officer with extensive experience in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems to join a leading facilities management team in Qatar. The ideal candidate will oversee the full procurement lifecycle for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, alarm, BMS, and ELV systems, ensuring efficient supplier management and timely delivery of materials.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves managing all procurement activities related to MEP projects, including evaluating bill of quantities (BOQs), material specifications, and project needs. The candidate will prepare comparative statements, negotiate effectively with suppliers, and maintain a network of approved Qatar-based MEP suppliers. Processing purchase orders and coordinating with internal departments such as Projects, Finance, and Stores, as well as external vendors, will be crucial for smooth operations. Additionally, supporting logistics and ensuring on-site delivery will form part of the duties.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Administration
• Minimum of 5 years’ procurement experience focused on MEP or facilities management
• At least 3 years working experience in Qatar preferred
• Comprehensive understanding of MEP materials and compliance submittals
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics
• Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel functions
• Possession of a Qatar driving license is advantageous
• Strong negotiation skills along with excellent vendor management and market knowledge

This role requires close collaboration with project teams and suppliers within a dynamic MEP and facilities management setting, supporting both on-site and office-based procurement activities. Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential to succeed in this fast-paced environment.
