Job Overview

We are urgently seeking an experienced Senior Estimator specializing in interior fit-out projects based in Bahrain. This role focuses on preparing precise cost estimates, managing project budgets, and collaborating closely with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure cost efficiency and compliance with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely cost evaluations for interior fit-out works. This includes detailed analysis of project specifications, drawings, and documentation to prepare comprehensive quantity take-offs. You will work closely with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather vital information for cost estimations.

Additionally, the role requires monitoring project progress and expenditures, identifying potential cost overruns, and proposing savings opportunities. Reviewing contracts to uncover risks or discrepancies and engaging in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing is crucial. Maintaining detailed cost records covering materials, labor, and equipment, as well as assisting in budget preparation and forecasting, are essential duties. Regular site visits to assess progress and ensure alignment with cost and quality benchmarks are also part of the role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline. A minimum of 8 to 10 years of proven experience in quantity surveying or estimating specifically for interior fit-out projects within the GCC region is required.

In-depth knowledge of construction materials, techniques, and processes typical to interior fit-outs is necessary. Proficiency with cost estimation software and tools is expected to perform accurate take-offs and calculations. Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset will help identify cost-saving alternatives and mitigate risks effectively.

Excellent communication and negotiation capabilities are important for building strong relationships with all project stakeholders and vendors. Attention to detail and precision in cost documentation underpin the role’s responsibilities. Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements is also valued. Professional certification or membership in related associations is a plus but not mandatory.
