Job Overview

Samsung is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Accountant to join our finance team in Abu Dhabi. This role focuses on managing daily accounting operations and delivering accurate financial reports, specifically catering to the Construction and Oil & Gas industries within the UAE. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong industry-specific experience combined with a thorough understanding of local financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

The Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring smooth financial processes for ongoing projects. Responsibilities include:

• Preparing payment applications, progress billings, and subcontractor certifications to support construction project financial workflows.
• Handling accounts payable and receivable, including managing subcontractor payments, supplier invoices, and client collections efficiently.
• Maintaining compliance with accounting standards and ensuring audit readiness through accurate documentation and financial record-keeping.
• Generating regular financial reports such as weekly, monthly, and quarterly summaries, cash flow statements, and variance analyses to aid decision-making.
• Liaising with project teams, procurement, HR, vendors, banks, and the Head Office to coordinate all financial matters seamlessly.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 to 5 years of hands-on accounting experience within the UAE’s Construction or Oil & Gas sectors.
• Proficiency in construction ERP systems, particularly SAP.
• Robust knowledge of UAE VAT laws and Labor Law to ensure compliance.
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
