Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled SMP DCS Operator to join our client’s team for a long-term position in Saudi Arabia. This role focuses on operating and monitoring Distributed Control Systems (DCS) within Methanol or Ammonia production plants. Candidates with extensive expertise in these industrial environments will find this opportunity rewarding and challenging.

Key Responsibilities

The DCS Operator will be responsible for overseeing field equipment operation in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures to maintain efficient production levels. Key duties include:

• Coordinating activities between field and control panel operations to ensure seamless plant functioning
• Reporting any irregularities promptly to the Panel Operator or Shift Supervisor, and implementing corrective actions as directed
• Mentoring junior operators in field activities and troubleshooting techniques
• Maintaining accurate records such as log sheets, checklists, and forms throughout plant start-up, routine operations, and emergency situations
• Supporting data analysis and optimization processes to enhance plant performance
• Supervising the unloading of raw materials and loading of finished products according to SOP standards
• Overseeing packaging operations to meet customer specifications and minimize complaints
• Upholding high standards of housekeeping and safety within the work environment

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a DCS Operator in Methanol, Ammonia, or similar industrial plants. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to make sound decisions and think analytically under pressure.

Qualifications

A diploma in a technical or related field is required to be considered for this position.

Work Schedule and Salary

The role follows an 8-hour workday across 5 days per week. The basic salary offered ranges from SAR 5,000 to SAR 6,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
