Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial and Contracts division based in Bahrain. The role involves supporting the Contract Manager and senior management in all aspects of tendering, estimation, quantity surveying, contract administration, and commercial management related to construction and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing and reviewing tender documentation including Bills of Quantities (BOQ), Schedule of Rates (SOR), and other commercial submissions. You will review and negotiate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers, handle contract administration tasks, and lead commercial negotiations. Additional duties include managing variations, claims, extensions of time (EOTs), valuations, and final accounts.

Monitoring project costs and budgets to ensure profitability and strong commercial performance is crucial. The role also requires identifying and mitigating any commercial or contractual risks, while coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution. You will also lead, mentor, and supervise Estimators and Quantity Surveyors, providing management with detailed commercial reports, analyses, and recommendations.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. You should have between 8 and 12 years of relevant experience, particularly within construction and infrastructure sectors. Strong expertise in quantity surveying, estimation, tendering, contract claims, cost control, and commercial management is essential.

Previous experience in supervising a QS or Estimation team is preferred. Experience working in Bahrain or the GCC region will be considered an advantage. Excellent negotiation, communication, analytical, and leadership skills are critical success factors for this position.
