Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented General Accountant to join our rental equipment company in the United Arab Emirates. This role involves managing daily accounting operations including invoicing, rental period monitoring, payment handling, bank reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of relevant experience and a strong commitment to precision and reliability in accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities

The General Accountant will be responsible for overseeing a range of financial tasks to ensure smooth business operations and accurate reporting. Key duties include:

• Preparing sales invoices and managing delivery orders (DO) accurately.
• Tracking rental periods to ensure proper billing and contract compliance.
• Monitoring accounts receivable and following up on outstanding balances.
• Handling payments and receipts efficiently to maintain cash flow.
• Managing petty cash transactions and records.
• Performing bank reconciliations to verify account accuracy.
• Recording daily bookkeeping entries.
• Processing post-dated checks (PDC) in compliance with company policies.
• Reviewing supplier statements and coordinating payments.
• Managing intercompany transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the UAE and the rental equipment or a similar industry.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with a problem-solving mindset.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
