Job Overview

Najoom Al Jazeera is looking to hire a skilled Accountant to join our Finance team in Sharjah. This full-time role is ideal for candidates with solid experience in accounting, specifically within established shipping, freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain companies operating in the UAE.

The chosen professional will oversee daily accounting tasks, prepare financial statements, reconcile accounts, and ensure adherence to UAE financial regulations while facilitating the company’s growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain precise accounting records and prepare journal entries as needed.
• Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions efficiently.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor the company’s cash flow status.
• Compile monthly financial reports and assist in preparing financial statements.
• Handle supplier invoices and process customer payments accurately.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities ensuring accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and internal company policies.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors during audits.
• Maintain organized financial documentation and records.
• Assist management with budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting tasks.
• Take on additional finance-related duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years accounting experience within the UAE, preferably with established shipping, freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain firms.
• Filipino candidates are preferred.
• Experience with prominent companies such as Maersk, CMA CGM, MSC, Hapag-Lloyd, Aramex, DHL, FedEx, UPS, DSV, DB Schenker, Kuehne+Nagel, Agility, or GAC is highly valued.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the automotive shipping sector is a plus.
• Capable of managing high-volume financial transactions effectively.
• Ability to thrive under pressure and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
