Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Accountant to join our expanding contracting team based in Dubai, UAE. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in accounting, particularly those with experience in the contracting or construction sectors. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing key financial processes and ensuring compliance with UAE VAT regulations.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves handling daily accounting transactions including the preparation of invoices, payment certificates, and processing supplier payments. You will manage both Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), reconcile bank accounts, and maintain precise financial records. Additionally, preparing VAT returns and ensuring all VAT requirements are met in line with UAE laws will be essential. You will also track project costs, assist with budgeting efforts, support month-end and year-end closing activities, and collaborate closely with project and procurement teams on all financial matters.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and possess a minimum of two years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within the contracting or construction industry. A thorough understanding of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations, along with familiarity with accounting standards, is crucial. Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software is expected. Strong analytical abilities, excellent organizational skills, and clear communication capabilities are necessary to thrive in this role. Holding a valid driving license will be considered an advantage.
