Job Overview

Vetic, a leading specialist company in fire protection solutions, is looking for a skilled Fire Fighting Mechanical Technician to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves hands-on installation, piping, testing, and maintenance of mechanical fire suppression systems, including water- and gas-based networks. The technician will work on-site, ensuring all systems meet stringent safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

The position requires expertise in various mechanical tasks related to fire fighting systems, including:

• Installing and fitting black steel and galvanized pipes using threading, grooving, welding techniques, along with components such as sprinklers, zone control valves, fire hose cabinets, and landing valves.
• Supporting the installation, alignment, and routine service of diesel and electric fire pumps, jockey pumps, and control manifolds.
• Handling gas suppression systems by installing and maintaining piping and cylinders for agents such as FM-200, CO2, Novec 1230, and Inergen.
• Carrying out hydrostatic pressure testing, pipe flushing, flow testing, and performing regular preventive maintenance on mechanical fire suppression equipment.
• Diagnosing and repairing issues like leaks, pressure drops, malfunctioning valves, and other mechanical faults in line with NFPA standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications and abilities:

• ITI certification or a trade diploma in Mechanical Fitting, Plumbing, or a related technical field.
• 2 to 5 years of proven experience working with fire fighting system installation and upkeep.
• Strong skills in pipe threading, grooving, and basic welding operations.
• Knowledge of and compliance with NFPA standards 13, 14, 20, and 25.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow mechanical layout drawings accurately.
• Physical fitness to work at heights, carry heavy tools and equipment, and endure outdoor site conditions during shifts.
