Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Project Manager with expertise in hydraulic modelling to lead an important Flood Management and Network Modelling and Monitoring project in Qatar. This role focuses on enabling real-time flood risk evaluation, problem detection, performance monitoring, and reporting to improve flood response efficiency.

The successful candidate will oversee the entire lifecycle of hydraulic modelling for Foul Water (FW) and Surface Ground Water (SGW) systems—from tendering and contractor selection to implementation and ongoing stakeholder collaboration. Reporting directly to the Programme Manager, this position is pivotal in integrating hydraulic models into client operations and delivering measurable business benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the evaluation process for hydraulic modelling tenders and recommend preferred contractors.
• Manage mobilization activities for the appointed contractor to ensure smooth project initiation.
• Support the implementation phase to achieve project goals and ensure deliverables meet all contract requirements.
• Serve as the technical expert during the development, verification, and integration of FW and SGW models.
• Review and validate hydraulic models prior to handover to clients.
• Develop and maintain monitoring mechanisms for regular project reporting.
• Organize and facilitate team meetings, maintain action logs, and communicate progress updates.
• Prepare and provide technical reports as requested by management and stakeholders.
• Ensure strict compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, preferably Civil Engineering (BSc, BEng, MSc).
• Professional certifications including PMP and a preferred Chartered Status.
• At least 10 years of hands-on experience in water or wastewater utility organizations, specifically in project management roles.
• Minimum 5 years of technical expertise in wastewater network hydraulic modelling using InfoWorks ICM or ICMLive.
• Strong knowledge of ESRI software products and related GIS tools.
• Proven experience modelling complex wastewater systems for major urban areas, delivering operational improvements.
• Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams across foul and surface water network modelling projects.
• Advanced project management abilities covering coordination of specialized teams and handling complex assignments.
• Excellent communication skills for creating business cases, technical documentation, and engaging diverse stakeholders from executives to field operators.
• Competence in contract types, including performance-based and incentivized agreements.
