Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Accountant based in Dubai, UAE. This role requires managing the full accounts payable cycle within a dynamic environment, focusing on accuracy and compliance in financial record-keeping and vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will handle the accounts payable process from start to finish. Key duties include verifying and processing supplier invoices, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete, and maintaining precise financial records. The role involves regular communication with suppliers to confirm invoice receipt and payment status, addressing discrepancies, pricing issues, tax queries, and missing documents. Additionally, it requires close coordination with Procurement, Operations, Receiving, and Finance teams to efficiently resolve any payment-related matters.

Maintaining up-to-date vendor account records and ledger balances, reconciling supplier statements, and investigating outstanding items are critical tasks. Preparing payment requests for approval and issuing payment confirmations or remittance advices upon completion also fall under this role. Support for month-end closing activities, internal audits, and financial reporting ensures timely and accurate supplier payments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is essential. Candidates holding a master’s degree or professional accounting certifications will have an added advantage. Proficiency with accounting software and financial reporting tools is expected, alongside strong English communication skills, both written and verbal. The ideal applicant will bring at least three years of experience in accounting, specifically in accounts payable or related areas. Familiarity with auditing practices and a solid understanding of UAE tax regulations are highly desirable. Experience in the marine or energy sectors will be considered a plus.
