Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Automation and CNC Maintenance Technician to join our team in Dammam. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and optimizing CNC machine tools and associated automation systems to ensure top performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

The technician will handle maintenance and repairs across multiple CNC machine types including lathes, milling machines, horizontal boring machines, and horizontal machining centers. Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control system faults, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, aligning and calibrating machine axes, and repairing various mechanical components such as spindles, turrets, gearboxes, and tool changers. Additionally, the role extends to maintaining hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and coolant systems, as well as troubleshooting and repairing PLC-controlled automation systems.

The technician will also configure and service servo drives, inverters, electrical control panels, sensors, and safety circuits, supporting machine commissioning and ensuring compliance with safety protocols like Lockout/Tagout procedures. Maintaining accurate maintenance records and recommending enhancements to improve machine reliability are crucial aspects of this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Industrial Electronics, or a related field is required. Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience servicing CNC lathe, milling, horizontal boring, and machining center equipment in manufacturing settings. Strong expertise in mechanical aspects of CNC machines, PLC troubleshooting (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, or Allen-Bradley), and Fanuc CNC control systems is essential.

Additional knowledge of Mitsubishi, Siemens, or Heidenhain controls is a plus. Proficiency in servo motors and drives, VFDs, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electrical wiring, machine alignment, and calibration is mandatory. The ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics is also required.

Preferred Skills

Preferred qualifications include experience with CNC parameter backup and restoration, software installation, machine commissioning, laser alignment, and root cause analysis. Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Lean Manufacturing principles would be advantageous.
