Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Planning Engineer to spearhead project scheduling and resource planning for newly awarded EPC projects based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. This role requires expertise in Primavera P6 and a strong background in managing full project lifecycles including design, execution, and handover phases to ensure seamless project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed baseline schedules, creating manpower and equipment histograms to optimize resource allocation, and overseeing project progression from mobilization through to final demobilization. Monitoring the project’s progress regularly and providing comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly reports with clear executive dashboards will be critical.

The role involves identifying schedule variances, recommending recovery actions, and preparing crash schedules as needed to keep projects on track. Financial oversight is also essential, including managing project budgets, reducing idle resource time, controlling costs, and handling billing processes such as interim invoices and extension of time (EOT) claims with thorough delay analysis.

Coordination across multiple teams such as Project Management, Construction, Procurement, and Quality Control is key to ensure alignment and adherence to approved baselines and project scopes.

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working on residential, pipeline construction, infrastructure, road construction, earthworks, and EPC building projects in industrial and commercial sectors. Strong proficiency with Primavera P6 for project scheduling and resource planning is mandatory, along with a good understanding of civil works and site preparation activities.
