Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Electrical QC Supervisor / QC Inspector specializing in Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) to join a dynamic team in Abu Dhabi. The primary responsibility is to ensure strict adherence to quality standards during the installation, testing, and commissioning phases of E&I works. This role is crucial in maintaining compliance with project specifications, international codes, and client requirements to deliver excellent project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

The Electrical QC Inspector will play a vital role in inspecting and monitoring E&I activities. This includes overseeing the installation of cable trays, conduits, and various types of cabling such as LV, MV, control, and fiber optics. The role involves verifying that all installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, method statements, and vendor documentation.

Key duties also include ensuring all equipment, junction boxes, panels, instruments, impulse tubing, and field devices are correctly installed and labeled. The inspector will witness and verify testing procedures such as continuity checks, insulation resistance tests, megger testing, cable testing at various voltages, loop checks, and functional tests. Additionally, they will be present for FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), SAT (Site Acceptance Test), calibration, and pre-commissioning processes to guarantee standards are met.

Maintaining the use of approved and calibrated test tools, verifying test results and certifications, and preparing inspection requests and reports are also essential. Coordination with construction teams, subcontractors, QA/QC engineers, and client representatives is an ongoing requirement. The role includes participating in audits, site quality meetings, and toolbox talks to foster a culture of continuous quality improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
• ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor certification is required.
• Between 3 and 7 years of proven experience as a QC Inspector in E&I disciplines, preferably within Oil & Gas, EPC, or industrial sectors.
• Strong knowledge of international standards including IEC, IEEE, NFPA, API, and BS.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, project specifications, and quality plans accurately.
• Proficient in identifying and reporting non-conformities with follow-up on corrective actions.

Additional Responsibilities

The candidate will be expected to maintain regular updates to quality documentation such as RFIs, inspection reports, material inspection requests (MIRs), and calibration logs. Support in preparing as-built drawings, test dossiers, and handover documentation is also part of the job.
