Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled MEP CAD Operator / Draftsman to join our team for a project based in Ras Laffan, Qatar. This is a contract position initially set for one month with the possibility of extension. The role demands a professional accustomed to working long hours, with a schedule of 10 hours per day, six days a week. This opportunity is ideal for those with a strong background in MEP drafting within the oil and gas sector, especially experience on projects like Qatar Energy or Ras Laffan.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing detailed MEP shop drawings, fabrication designs, coordination layouts, and as-built documentation. You will play a critical role in ensuring all drawings meet project specifications and adhere to international codes and standards relevant to the oil and gas industry. Coordination with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders is essential to maintain accuracy and consistency across all documentation.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 5 years of professional experience as an MEP CAD Operator or Draftsman.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and Electrical systems.
• Familiarity with preparing shop, fabrication, coordination, and as-built drawings.
• Experience working specifically on Qatar Energy, Ras Laffan, or equivalent major oil and gas projects is highly preferred.
• Understanding of international codes and standards applicable to Oil & Gas projects.
• Additional experience with Autodesk Navisworks or Revit MEP is considered an advantage.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and teamwork abilities.

Work Environment

The position is located at Ras Laffan, a key industrial hub for Qatar’s oil and gas sector. You will be expected to work on-site with a demanding schedule but within a collaborative team environment focused on delivering high-quality engineering drawings and documentation.
