Job Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Accountant to join our expanding freight forwarding team in the UAE. This position plays a vital role in managing financial transactions related to shipment operations, ensuring compliance with local accounting standards, and collaborating with various departments to maintain smooth financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

The Accountant will be responsible for managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, preparing accurate invoices and payment vouchers, and generating detailed financial reports. Additional duties include performing regular bank reconciliations, monitoring cash flow, and reconciling statements from customers and suppliers. The role also involves processing freight billing, allocating shipping costs appropriately, and working closely with operations, pricing, and customer service teams to resolve shipping cost and invoicing matters. The candidate will assist in month-end and year-end closing activities while ensuring all operations comply with UAE accounting regulations and company policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Ideally, applicants will have one to two years of accounting experience, preferably within the freight forwarding or logistics sectors. Familiarity with freight forwarding operations, shipping documentation, and UAE VAT regulations will be advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software is essential, alongside strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. The ability to work independently and meet deadlines is crucial for success in this role.

Work Environment

This position is based in the United Arab Emirates within a dynamic freight forwarding and logistics industry environment. The Accountant will interact closely with cross-functional teams to support efficient financial management of shipping and logistics activities.
