Job Overview

We are seeking skilled RAS Aquaculture Technicians and Operators to join a cutting-edge commercial tilapia farming project located in Ha’il, Saudi Arabia. This role involves managing a modern Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) designed specifically for the production of tilapia, encompassing all stages from hatchery and nursery to grow-out and broodstock management.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play a vital role in the daily operations of the aquaculture facility. Responsibilities include operating and monitoring critical RAS equipment such as pumps, drum filters, biofilters, blowers, oxygen supply systems, UV sterilizers, valves, and control panels. You will be tasked with regularly measuring and recording water-quality parameters, including dissolved oxygen, temperature, pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, salinity/TDS, and alkalinity, to ensure an optimal environment for fish health.

Additional duties involve closely observing fish behavior and health indicators such as feeding responses, mortality rates, and tank conditions. You will assist in feeding, grading, transferring, stocking, harvesting, and general fish handling. Routine cleaning and preventive maintenance of tanks, filters, sensors, and related equipment are also part of the role, along with responding promptly to any alarms or operational issues to maintain seamless system functionality.

Required Skills and Experience

Ideal candidates will have proven experience working within aquaculture environments, particularly in intensive fish farming or RAS operations with a focus on tilapia. A basic understanding of water chemistry and fish health management is essential. Proficiency in handling and operating pumps, valves, filtration systems, oxygen delivery devices, and control panels is required, along with the ability to accurately measure and log operational data.

Organizational skills, discipline, and adherence to established operating procedures and biosecurity protocols are critical. Basic English communication skills are preferred to facilitate effective teamwork and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience specifically in tilapia hatchery, nursery, grow-out, or broodstock management will be an advantage. Familiarity with water-quality testing kits or digital meters and basic troubleshooting of mechanical or electrical equipment will enhance your candidacy. Prior employment in GCC countries is considered a plus.
