Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in drilling rig operations to join our team in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing mechanical equipment essential for drilling activities in compliance with stringent safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for operating, inspecting, and maintaining various mechanical components such as top drives, drawworks, mud pumps, generators, and compressors. You will troubleshoot mechanical failures promptly to minimize downtime and ensure smooth drilling operations. Implementing preventive maintenance strategies and adhering to Saudi Aramco’s health, safety, and environmental regulations will also be critical parts of your role.

Providing leadership and training to mechanical technicians on-site, managing spare parts inventory, and supporting cost control and budgeting efforts are equally important. Additionally, you will assist with rig mobilization and demobilization processes, ensuring all equipment is installed and functioning correctly.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• At least five years of hands-on experience working with drilling rig mechanical systems, including a minimum of two years in Saudi Arabia.
• In-depth understanding of drilling rig equipment, maintenance practices, and operational procedures.
• Effective communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
• Possession of a valid Saudi Iqama or transferable sponsorship preferred.
• Capability to perform well under pressure and adapt to rotational shifts at remote job sites.
