Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Planning Engineer to join our dynamic team in Riyadh. This role involves managing and overseeing comprehensive planning and scheduling activities for major infrastructure developments, including roads, utilities, and civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in Primavera P6, project controls, and progress monitoring, ensuring timely delivery from initial planning to project handover.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and ensuring efficient project execution. Key duties include:

• Creating and updating baseline schedules using Primavera P6 for engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover phases.
• Formulating recovery schedules and adjusted project timelines as necessary.
• Conducting resource and cost loading, manpower planning, equipment allocation, and generating cash flow forecasts and S-curves.
• Monitoring project progress, performing critical path analyses, and updating schedules regularly to reflect actual progress.
• Carrying out delay analysis and preparing Extension of Time (EOT) claims when required.
• Implementing Earned Value Management (EVM) and productivity assessments to track project performance.
• Identifying risks and developing mitigation and recovery strategies to keep projects on track.
• Preparing detailed weekly and monthly progress reports along with executive presentations.
• Liaising effectively with project managers, construction teams, procurement, commercial staff, consultants, clients, and subcontractors.
• Ensuring smooth construction sequencing specifically for roads and utility infrastructure works.

Required Skills and Experience

Successful candidates will have a strong technical background and proven expertise in planning for infrastructure projects:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• At least 8 to 10 years of relevant planning experience with reputable contractors, focusing on large-scale infrastructure projects such as roads, utilities, and civil works.
• Hands-on experience in planning and controlling projects involving roads and highways, earthworks, pavement installation, water transmission and distribution, sewerage, stormwater drainage, irrigation networks, as well as electrical and telecom underground utilities.
• Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 and proficient in project controls methodologies including CPM, EVM, delay analysis, and risk management.
• Strong capability in schedule recovery and detailed project performance evaluation.
• Excellent communication skills for effective coordination and stakeholder management.
