Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Projects Cost Control Engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience in cost engineering and project controls, specifically within construction environments. This role demands a detail-oriented professional to assist in cost estimation, budgeting, tracking, and reporting to help ensure timely project delivery within approved budgets.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and budgets aligned with project drawings, BOQs, and specifications. Implementing and maintaining cost control systems will be essential to monitor expenditures against planned budgets and analyze any variances. The role also involves supporting project planning activities and monitoring progress relative to cost and schedule baselines.

Using Primavera P6, you will manage cost and resource loading, track project progress, and conduct performance analysis. Additionally, the preparation and review of Earned Value Management (EVM) reports such as CPI, SPI, cost variance, and schedule variance will be a core task. Monthly cost reporting, including cost-to-complete forecasts, cash flow estimates, and management dashboards, will be regularly produced to facilitate informed decision-making.

Performing quantity takeoffs and reviewing Bills of Quantities ensure accuracy and completeness of project costs. Effective coordination with Planning, Procurement, Estimation, and Project Management teams is crucial for the smooth execution of cost control activities. Maintaining organized documentation and comprehensive financial records will also be part of daily responsibilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
• Professional certifications or training in Cost Engineering, Cost Management, or Project Planning are preferred.
• Certifications such as Primavera P6, PMP, or PICs are considered an advantage.
• Strong experience in cost management and project planning, including proficiency with Primavera P6 for cost and resource loading.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
• Thorough knowledge of cost control methodologies and financial reporting standards.
• Proven ability to prepare detailed monthly cost reports and forecasts.
• Ability to work effectively in a bilingual environment, with English and Arabic language skills preferred.
