Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced MEP Coordinator and Lead HVAC Engineer to join a major design and build project for a factory located in MODON 3, Jeddah. This full-time position requires oversight of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems with a specialized focus on HVAC solutions tailored to industrial food production facilities. The role is pivotal in ensuring that all MEP systems meet strict performance standards for production and warehouse environments.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will lead the HVAC design process, including specifications and approvals for production halls featuring ventilation and dehumidification, as well as warehouses and silos. Coordination with structural and architectural teams to integrate all MEP elements—HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection—is essential. Responsibilities also include preparing comprehensive technical submissions for client and regulatory approval, reviewing subcontractor drawings and materials, and supervising on-site MEP installation to guarantee adherence to quality standards and project timelines. The role involves conducting critical inspections and tests such as pressure and duct leakage tests and balancing the HVAC systems, while swiftly resolving any technical or site-related queries.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 7 to 10 years of experience in MEP work, with no less than 5 years in a coordination capacity within Saudi Arabia.
- Demonstrated expertise in HVAC design for industrial environments, particularly food production, cold storage, or controlled atmosphere facilities.
- Thorough understanding of Saudi Civil Defense regulations and compliance requirements for MEP systems.
- Proficiency in HVAC design software such as HAP or Carrier E20, along with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Possession of a transferable iqama is mandatory.
- Strong leadership abilities and effective communication skills to manage multidisciplinary teams.
