Job Overview
We are urgently seeking a skilled HVAC Project Engineer with expertise in residential and commercial projects to join a leading engineering firm in Bahrain. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing HVAC works from initial planning through to final commissioning, ensuring quality standards and project deadlines are met efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
The HVAC Project Engineer will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
- Reviewing tender documents, drawings, and Bills of Quantities at project initiation to develop a comprehensive understanding of project scope and requirements.
- Creating and managing detailed project schedules to maintain timely progress and successful completion.
- Preparing material submittals and developing HVAC shop drawings from Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, ensuring all consultant approvals are secured.
- Selecting HVAC equipment such as chillers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, and fans through thorough technical evaluation and commercial comparison of supplier quotes.
- Performing essential HVAC calculations including heat load, external static pressure, pump head, and staircase pressurization assessments to support design and implementation.
- Allocating manpower and technological resources effectively to optimize project execution.
- Overseeing installation, testing, commissioning, and ensuring compliance with quality plans and project specifications.
- Preparing method statements for installation and commissioning, risk assessments, and Inspection and Test Plans (ITP).
- Managing project variations and documentation related to scope changes, securing necessary approvals.
- Coordinating and communicating with various mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and architectural teams to maintain project cohesion.
- Raising inspection requests, RFIs, and other documentation for consultant review as required.
- Utilizing HVAC design and analysis software tools such as HAP, Duct/Pipe Sizer, and Psychrometric Chart Analyzer alongside Microsoft Office applications.
- Maintaining clear communication with contractors, project managers, and clients, demonstrating problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Submitting payment applications in line with project milestones and following up on payments per the payment certificates.
- Preparing and completing as-built drawings, operational manuals, and consumer instructions to handover standards.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of relevant HVAC project engineering experience within the GCC region.
- Professional engineering license registered with Bahrain’s Council of Regulating the Practice of Engineering Profession (CRPEP) is mandatory.
