Job Overview
A reputable Real Estate Developer and Construction Company based in the Kingdom of Bahrain is seeking a skilled Document Controller to oversee and manage document control processes and information flow. This role focuses on handling incoming and outgoing construction drawings, instructions, requests for information (RFIs), correspondence, and reports to support smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
The Document Controller will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring timely distribution of project-related information. This includes monitoring information flow through the in-house collaboration tool Project Wise, issuing construction design documents to contractors, and conducting quality checks on all incoming files.
Day-to-day duties involve general project and team administration, such as managing the project calendar, organizing meetings, formatting documents, and providing adhoc typing support.
The role also requires archiving and managing both electronic and hard copy information, maintaining the project database in compliance with established protocols, and routing correspondence within the project team to ensure efficient communication.
Formal transmittals, instructions, approval requests, meeting minutes, and other official documents are to be prepared and issued as part of the responsibilities. Monitoring consultant drawing due dates and managing contractor queries regarding the Information Management System (IMS) are also essential tasks.
Additional duties include assisting with document management procedures, tracking project data as required, printing necessary drawings and documents, and supporting the project programme by highlighting key dates to aid timely completion.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Document Controller within the construction industry, preferably on the client side
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with contractors, consultants, and project teams
- Proficient in managing information flow and document control systems
- Experience using project collaboration tools such as Project Wise is highly beneficial
- Must currently reside in Bahrain and be available for immediate hire
