Job Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled Technical Tendering Engineer to join a leading construction firm based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This role demands a detail-oriented professional with experience in managing tender processes, cost estimation, and quantity surveying within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for thoroughly reviewing tender documents, drawings, and client specifications to prepare comprehensive technical and commercial proposals for government and private sector projects. Duties include performing detailed quantity take-offs, preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), analyzing tender requirements, and coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations. Additionally, the role involves preparing cost estimates and pricing for bids, conducting quantity surveying throughout project phases, evaluating potential risks, and identifying value engineering opportunities. Collaboration with Engineering, Procurement, and Project Management teams is essential during tender stages. The engineer will also prepare technical submittals, method statements, and compliance reports, maintain tender documentation and bid logs, and provide technical support to project execution teams after contract awards.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline and possess between three to five years of relevant experience in construction tendering, estimation, or quantity surveying. A strong understanding of BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, estimation techniques, and tendering procedures is required. The ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents is essential. Experience with government and private sector tenders in Saudi Arabia is preferred, along with proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and estimation software. Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and construction standards will be an added advantage. Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills are necessary, as is the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.

Mandatory Criteria

Applicants must currently reside in Saudi Arabia with a transferable Iqama and be available to join immediately or on short notice. Prior experience in the construction industry is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in infrastructure, commercial, industrial, or building construction projects is highly desirable. Candidates who have managed complete tender cycles from inquiry to submission and possess strong negotiation and vendor coordination abilities will be given preference.
