Job Overview

This position calls for an experienced local hire male Accountant cum Cost Controller dedicated to the hotel sector. The role involves managing day-to-day financial tasks while vigilantly overseeing costs related to food, beverages, and other hotel operations to enhance overall profitability.

Key Responsibilities

The Accountant cum Cost Controller will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing various cost centers within the hotel. Key duties include:

• Monitoring Food & Beverage (F&B) and operational expenses, performing variance analyses to identify and address financial discrepancies.
• Conducting regular inventory audits and stock reconciliations to ensure accurate valuation of assets and consumables.
• Preparing detailed financial reports, including daily, weekly, and monthly statements and closing reconciliations.
• Assisting management with budgeting and forecasting efforts, tracking expenditures, and supporting financial planning activities.
• Ensuring full compliance with statutory accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies, while facilitating audit processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

• Possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline. Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are strongly preferred.
• Have between 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in cost control or financial accounting within the hospitality industry.
• Be proficient in hotel Property Management Systems (PMS), Point of Sale (POS) technologies, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrate a keen analytical ability to convert complex cost data into strategic insights that support management decision-making.
• Commit to an 8-hour workday schedule with one weekly day off.
