Josh Stone Design Studio is a distinguished boutique interior design firm headquartered in London, known for its timeless and sophisticated creations. With a growing presence across the UK, Bahrain, the USA, Switzerland, and Saudi Arabia, the studio is expanding its Bahrain office and looking to hire a Studio Manager / Design Assistant. This full-time, office-based position offers the chance to contribute to luxury residential, hospitality, and commercial interior projects from concept to completion.

Role Summary

The selected candidate will work directly with the Design Director to oversee project coordination, procurement, design support, and general studio operations. This is a multifaceted role ideal for an organised, proactive individual who thrives in a creative environment and pays close attention to detail. You will be instrumental in ensuring smooth project delivery, managing supplier relationships, and supporting studio administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and complete detailed project schedules including furniture, lighting, sanitaryware, finishes, fabrics, and other specifications.
• Create and maintain branded documentation and schedule templates to streamline project workflows.
• Assist with FF&E schedule preparation using software such as Esti-PC or Programma and keep accurate records of pricing, procurement status, and supplier communications.
• Support client presentations, quotations, and follow-up actions after meetings to maintain project momentum.
• Manage procurement activities by communicating with suppliers to obtain pricing, lead times, and technical details, and prepare purchase orders accordingly.
• Track deliveries, coordinate logistics with freight agents and contractors, and monitor procurement timelines to prevent delays.
• Support project coordination across multiple assignments by maintaining action lists, liaising with contractors and suppliers, and assisting with installation and completion phases.
• Maintain studio filing systems, update project programs, assist with diary and meeting management, and contribute to smooth day-to-day studio operations.

Required Skills and Experience

• Previous experience within an interior design studio is highly preferred. Candidates with backgrounds in architecture, construction, hospitality, or luxury retail may also be suitable.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with clients, suppliers, contractors, and consultants.
• Proficiency in project management and procurement software, including Esti-PC or similar tools, is advantageous.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and solving potential project delays or issues.
