Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to join our team, focusing on global import operations and overseas sourcing. This role involves managing the entire international supply chain process, ensuring raw materials, machinery, and spare parts are efficiently imported from global vendors to our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of international shipping, customs compliance, and vendor relations to guarantee smooth and cost-effective logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Logistics Specialist will play a pivotal role in coordinating the international movement of goods. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing end-to-end coordination of international freight forwarding across air, ocean, and road transport modes from suppliers to local warehouses.
  • Handling customs clearance by preparing, verifying, and submitting essential import documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
  • Negotiating and evaluating rates with international freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers to secure the best terms.
  • Maintaining detailed tracking systems to monitor shipment progress, transit duration, and overall landing costs.
  • Anticipating and addressing potential supply chain delays or customs challenges by implementing timely risk mitigation strategies to ensure on-time deliveries.

Requirements and Qualifications

Successful candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in international logistics, global sourcing, or freight forwarding.
  • In-depth knowledge of global trade regulations, customs compliance, and harmonized tariff codes (HS codes).
  • Strong technical skills, particularly advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities including pivot tables and data tracking, along with familiarity using ERP software.
  • Excellent negotiation abilities and interpersonal skills, with effective communication across different cultures and time zones.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related discipline.
