Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team in Dubai within the sports and recreational sector. This full-time role offers the chance to work closely with senior finance professionals, supporting the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial data, ensuring compliance with local laws, and contributing to efficient accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for several accounting tasks, including:

• Entering financial data precisely into company accounting software, covering invoices, receipts, and expenses.
• Supporting accounts payable and receivable operations to guarantee punctual payments and collections.
• Monitoring and documenting expenses in line with budget guidelines, including managing inventories and maintaining records for café purchases and other related expenditures.
• Assisting in the preparation of financial reports such as income statements and balance sheets.
• Participating in month-end closing activities to ensure accurate account reconciliations.
• Providing essential assistance during both internal and external audits by organizing documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
• Keeping a well-organized filing system for all financial documents to support easy retrieval and compliance.
• Ensuring adherence to local tax regulations, including VAT and corporate tax compliance.
• Handling payroll preparation and processing in accordance with Wages Protection System (WPS) requirements.
• Maintaining thorough and timely bookkeeping records.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential.
• Proven accuracy and attention to detail while handling financial data entry.
• Familiarity with accounting software, with preference given to candidates experienced in XERO.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
• Good team collaboration and communication abilities.
• Previous accounting or finance internship or work experience considered a plus.
• At least 1-2 years of accounting experience within the UAE market is required.
