Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will take charge of sourcing materials and products from international markets including the USA, Europe, China, Turkey, and GCC countries. Responsibilities include obtaining competitive quotations, negotiating terms such as pricing, payment, and delivery schedules, and issuing Purchase Orders. The role also involves close coordination with freight forwarders, shipping companies, and customs agents to manage inbound shipments efficiently.
Additional duties include tracking shipments to guarantee timely arrivals while optimizing logistics costs, reviewing shipping documentation—such as Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and Bills of Lading—and managing import/export compliance aligned with local regulations. Collaborating with warehouse and inventory teams to maintain stock levels, monitoring supplier performance, and handling shipment issues or delays are also key aspects of the role.
Furthermore, preparing regular procurement and logistics reports, developing KPIs, and identifying cost-saving opportunities are part of daily duties. The officer will support vendor registration and qualification processes and ensure strict adherence to company procurement policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline. A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in international procurement and logistics is required. Strong familiarity with Incoterms, international trade laws, customs regulations, and hands-on experience working with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers is essential.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications is expected, along with excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication abilities. The candidate must be able to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Experience in industries such as medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, retail, FMCG, or e-commerce will be considered an advantage.
Preferred Competencies
Candidates with knowledge of global sourcing strategies, effective vendor management, supplier relationship building, and inventory replenishment will stand out. Skills in cost optimization and improving logistics performance are highly desirable. Fluency in English is required, and Arabic language skills are beneficial.
Benefits
We offer a competitive salary package along with insurance coverage and an annual airfare ticket. Employees will benefit from professional development opportunities within a dynamic and collaborative workplace. This position provides a unique chance to work directly with international suppliers and tap into global logistics networks.
