Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Chemist to lead our research, formulation development, and quality control efforts at a cleaning and hygiene product manufacturing facility based in Saudi Arabia. This role is crucial for overseeing the creation and optimization of a range of household and industrial cleaning products while ensuring strict adherence to Saudi regulatory guidelines and international quality standards.

The portfolio includes products such as hand wash, dishwashing liquids, surface disinfectants, laundry detergents, toilet gels, glass cleaners, multipurpose cleaners, and other institutional and household cleaning solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Chemist will be responsible for developing innovative and effective formulations that meet market demands and cost targets. Duties include conducting extensive R&D to enhance product performance and efficiency, selecting and assessing raw materials such as surfactants, preservatives, fragrances, and specialty chemicals, and establishing manufacturing procedures and quality benchmarks.

Additional core responsibilities involve carrying out laboratory testing, conducting stability and compatibility studies, leading quality control for raw materials and finished goods, preparing technical documentation including product dossiers and Safety Data Sheets, and supporting regulatory approval and product registration within Saudi Arabia.

The role also demands leadership in troubleshooting production issues, investigating customer complaints, training staff on quality and manufacturing standards, and collaborating with management during factory setup and production line commissioning.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Between 5 to 10 years of experience in formulation, manufacturing, and quality control of cleaning chemicals, detergents, disinfectants, or similar personal care products.
• In-depth knowledge of surfactants, solvents, preservatives, fragrances, and specialty ingredients.
• Familiarity with quality management systems such as GMP and ISO 9001, and sound laboratory practice.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and product registration processes in Saudi Arabia preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities.

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on experience in factory setup and production line commissioning.
• Proven background in developing private-label cleaning products.
• Expertise in quality assurance, laboratory management, and cost optimization through formulation improvements.
