Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented restaurant accountant with a minimum of five years’ experience in the food and beverage industry. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in managing financial operations that support restaurant profitability and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves comprehensive financial oversight including cost control, margin protection, and daily sales reconciliation. You will manage inventory, monitor labor costs, and handle vendor payments while ensuring adherence to regulatory and tax requirements.

• Control and protect restaurant costs and profit margins
• Perform daily reconciliation of sales and POS transactions
• Manage inventory and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS)
• Monitor labor expenses to optimize staffing costs
• Oversee vendor accounts and accounts payable processes
• Prepare and review daily cash reconciliation reports
• Generate weekly prime cost and flash reports
• Compile monthly profit and loss statements, and conduct variance analyses
• Prepare quarterly menu engineering reports to support menu profitability
• Maintain annual balance sheets and conduct year-end vendor reconciliations
• Handle salary payroll preparation and inventory control management

Required Skills and Experience

To succeed in this position, you need proven expertise in financial accounting specifically tailored to restaurants. Strong analytical skills, accuracy in reporting, and familiarity with restaurant POS systems are essential.

• Minimum of 5 years experience as a restaurant accountant
• Proficient in cost control, inventory, and payroll management
• Knowledge of tax regulations affecting the hospitality sector
• Ability to prepare complex financial reports and perform detailed variance analysis
• Strong organizational and communication skills
