This role involves working closely with Saudi Aramco standards and requires hands-on involvement in both design and site activities.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting electrical design drawings and specifications according to Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES), IEC, NEC, and other relevant codes. Activities include load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop, and short circuit studies.

Supervision of field installation for power distribution systems (LV and MV), transformers, switchgear, MCC panels, cable trays, conduits, grounding, and lighting systems is essential. Coordination with civil, mechanical, and instrumentation teams ensures smooth implementation on site.

Additional responsibilities encompass overseeing pre-commissioning and commissioning tests such as insulation resistance, continuity, high voltage testing, and validating system performance against design criteria. Proper documentation of test results and final handover is also required.

Strict adherence to QA/QC requirements and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations is mandatory. This includes electrical safety protocols, permit-to-work processes, and lockout/tagout procedures. The engineer will also liaise regularly with Saudi Aramco representatives, consultants, and contractors to monitor project progress and address risks.

Required Skills and Experience

Prior involvement in Saudi Aramco projects or gas processing plants, refineries, and energy developments is highly advantageous.

Strong knowledge of medium and low voltage systems, hazardous area classifications (IECEx/ATEX), and power system studies using ETAP or similar software is essential. Familiarity with Saudi Aramco standards, international codes (IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA), and the ability to interpret single line diagrams, cable schedules, and earthing systems are expected.

Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills are required along with the ability to produce detailed reports and maintain documentation under project pressure.

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications

  • Saudi Aramco Project Approval (SAP No.)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • OSHA or NEBOSH safety certifications
  • Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) certification, if applicable
