Job Overview

Jotun Paints, located on C Ring Road in Doha, Qatar, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant on a one-year contractual basis. This position provides essential support to the Finance team, particularly in accounts payable and customer service-related operations, contributing to smooth financial processes within the company.

Key Responsibilities

The Accounts Assistant will play a pivotal role in managing financial transactions and records. The responsibilities include:

• Reviewing supplier invoices to ensure accuracy and securing necessary approvals before processing.
• Matching invoices to purchase orders, delivery notes (GRNs), and contractual documents to validate payment details.
• Supporting the Accounts Payable accountant by reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies or queries.
• Preparing customer invoices by referencing contracts, local purchase orders (LPOs), and delivery notes, then uploading them accurately into the system.
• Performing basic reconciliations for vendor accounts, customer accounts, and bank statements to maintain accurate financial records.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Ideal candidates should meet the following criteria:

• A bachelor’s degree in Commerce or a related field.
• Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with an emphasis on Excel for data management and reporting.
• A solid understanding of accounting principles, including double entry bookkeeping.
• Three to four years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Legal eligibility to work in Qatar.
