Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor with strong experience in civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in cost management, contract preparation, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. A solid background in engineering and proficiency with project management software is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for carrying out site visits alongside project engineers and supervisors to measure and assess client requirements accurately. Preparing prequalification documents and tender packages, including bills of quantities, will form a large part of the duties. The role also involves analysing costings, performing risk and value management, and implementing robust cost control measures. Advising on procurement strategies, identifying commercial risks, providing contractual claim advice, and preparing final project accounts are also key tasks.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of two and three-dimensional technical drawings
• Experience with project management tools such as Primavera and MS Project
• Solid understanding of construction industry standards and practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with various stakeholders

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold a degree or diploma in engineering or a related field, with at least five years of relevant experience in quantity surveying within the civil construction sector. Proven expertise in cost estimation, tender documentation, and contract management is compulsory.
