Job Overview

Abacus Technology is looking for a skilled Database Specialist to join their team supporting U.S. military operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is based in Riyadh and involves managing and optimizing various database systems critical to mission success.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain information systems focused on data acquisition, storage, and retrieval. Daily tasks include analyzing data needs and specifications, normalizing and implementing databases, and ensuring their performance through monitoring, tuning, backup, and recovery operations. You will install and configure database management software while forecasting future data capacity requirements. Additionally, the role requires developing and enforcing data standards, policies, and procedures, as well as exploring data mining and warehousing solutions.

Another important aspect is Microsoft SharePoint administration. You will provide technical support for SharePoint environments, including configuring services, managing site quotas and file sizes, maintaining site structure and content, and assisting end users with their requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least five years of hands-on experience in database administration. Candidates must meet Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements, such as Security+ or CCNA-Security. Experience with Oracle or SQL Server database platforms and application server administration is essential.

Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively explain database relationships and interactions. You should be able to work independently and collaboratively across varying organizational levels. Furthermore, candidates must be U.S. citizens holding an active DoD Secret clearance and be willing to relocate to Saudi Arabia.
