Job Overview
We are urgently seeking qualified candidates in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for two critical engineering roles: Relay Protection Engineer and Testing & Commissioning Engineer. These positions focus on substation control and protection systems, offering a great opportunity for professionals with hands-on experience in electrical protection equipment and system commissioning. The roles require local transfer only and are ideal for candidates with solid technical expertise and field experience.
Key Responsibilities
Relay Protection Engineer:
- Perform onsite testing and commissioning of substation control and protection equipment.
- Handle protection relays (IEDs) including backup protection, synch check, pilot wire, REF protection, AVR schemes, generator, feeder, and motor protection from various OEMs.
- Test and validate control and protection schemes such as binary inputs, CT/VT injections, trip logics, interlocks, synchronization, auto-reclosure schemes, stability, and sensitivity tests.
- Validate protection settings through practical testing.
- Parameterize and configure protection relays, update project files, and modify settings as needed.
- Apply knowledge of IEC 61850 communication standards.
- Utilize engineering software including DIGSI, PCM600, Easergy Studio, MiCOM, Bio-Vision, SEL, and Schneider Easergy Pro for relay configuration and analysis.
Testing and Commissioning Engineer:
- Conduct testing and commissioning activities for electrical equipment and protection relays.
- Possess fundamental knowledge of protection systems and power systems engineering.
- Use AutoCAD and basic electrical tools effectively during commissioning tasks.
- Demonstrate computer literacy to support testing procedures and documentation.
- Perform protection relay tests and electrical equipment checks to ensure system reliability and safety.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least 2-3 years of relevant onsite experience for the Relay Protection Engineer role.
- 3-4 years of experience in testing and commissioning for electrical systems for the Testing and Commissioning Engineer role.
- Strong understanding of substation control and protection equipment.
- Proficiency with protection relay software tools and communication protocols.
- Good foundational knowledge in electrical engineering, power systems, and protection equipment.
