Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior MEP Engineer to lead the design, coordination, and oversight of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems on construction projects in Riyadh. This role demands ensuring strict compliance with the Saudi Building Code, Civil Defense regulations, and international engineering consultancy standards from initial design through to project completion.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior MEP Engineer, you will take charge of several critical functions involving:

• Leading the design and implementation of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and water supply systems to meet project specifications.
• Overseeing electrical system designs including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low current networks.
• Preparing detailed MEP tender drawings covering mechanical, electrical, and firefighting systems.
• Carrying out precise engineering calculations such as HVAC load, water supply and drainage, electrical load, and lighting design calculations to ensure robust system performance.
• Reviewing and coordinating multidisciplinary MEP drawings for consistency and accuracy.
• Designing fire protection solutions, including sprinklers, fire alarms, pumps, and hydrants, while meeting Civil Defense standards and managing submissions for approvals.
• Supervising MEP installations on site, validating shop drawings and materials, and resolving any technical challenges during construction.
• Coordinating effectively with architectural, structural teams, contractors, consultants, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Providing mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers to foster team growth and project excellence.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electromechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• 7 to 10+ years of proven experience in MEP design and site supervision within engineering consultancy firms.
• Expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire fighting system design and execution.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software tools.
• Strong skills in performing critical engineering calculations related to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines.
• In-depth knowledge of Saudi Civil Defense requirements and municipality regulations.
• Familiarity with the Saudi Building Code and applicable international standards.
• Excellent leadership and multidisciplinary team coordination capabilities.

Work Environment

This position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, involving both office-based engineering design work and on-site supervision. You will engage regularly with consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure seamless project delivery in compliance with safety and quality standards.
