Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Protection Engineer with strong experience in Saudi Arabia’s power sector. This role is ideal for an electrical engineer specializing in power system protection to ensure the stability and safety of electrical networks. The position is based in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, and requires immediate joining.

Key Responsibilities

The Protection Engineer will play a critical role in designing, testing, and maintaining protection systems for transmission and distribution networks. Responsibilities include performing short-circuit analyses, relay coordination studies, and developing relay settings. The role also demands conducting factory and site acceptance testing (FAT & SAT), programming relays, troubleshooting, fault analysis, and overall evaluation of system performance. Additionally, the engineer will prepare and review protection schemes and related technical documentation such as single-line diagrams while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with a preference for hands-on work in Saudi Arabia
• Strong background in substations, and transmission and distribution system protection
• Proficiency in specialized software such as ETAP, CAPE, ASPEN, or DIgSILENT
• In-depth knowledge of relevant standards including IEC, IEEE, NEMA, and SASO
• SEC Approval is preferred
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification is advantageous
