We are seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant to oversee accounting operations within the events and marketing sector in Bahrain. This full-time permanent role requires a professional who can manage complex financial activities, ensuring compliance with local regulations in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, tax compliance, audit coordination, and financial planning to support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in handling all accounting tasks related to events and marketing, including management of supplier costs, project accounting, asset tracking, and allocating expenses accurately. This role involves preparing comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements and reports, ensuring their accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
Additionally, the candidate will liaise with external auditors to facilitate timely audit completion, maintain compliance with Bahrain VAT regulations, and manage tax obligations in Saudi Arabia such as VAT, Zakat, and withholding tax. The job includes responsibilities for handling e-invoicing through the Fatoora portal and staying updated with GAZT/ZATCA compliance requirements.
Other duties encompass supervising payroll processing, managing asset reconciliation, overseeing daily financial transactions, and collaborating with management on budgets and cash flow forecasts. Ensuring strict adherence to internal financial policies and controls is essential.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly preferred. A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within the events and marketing industries, is required to thrive in this position.
The applicant should possess thorough knowledge of tax laws in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, including VAT, Zakat, and withholding tax regulations, plus familiarity with e-invoicing systems like the Fatoora portal. Proficiency in accounting software such as Zoho Books or other ERP platforms is crucial.
