Job Overview

We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Cost Control Engineer to join a large-scale tunnel construction project based in Medina, Saudi Arabia. This role requires expertise in managing project costs accurately and ensuring alignment with budget goals throughout the infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective cost control systems tailored to the project’s needs. Duties include closely monitoring actual spending against budgets, analyzing discrepancies, and providing comprehensive reports to project leadership. You will collaborate with teams from planning, procurement, and construction to synchronize costs with project progress and procurement timelines. Accurate review and validation of contractor and vendor invoices, change orders, and claims are essential to determine their impact on costs. You will also prepare detailed monthly cost reports, including earned value analysis and management dashboards. Identifying potential cost risks and value engineering opportunities, alongside assisting with cost estimates for scope changes and new work, will be part of your core tasks. Compliance with company and client policies on cost accounting and audits is mandatory.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as a Cost Control Engineer, preferably on large infrastructure or construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of cost management systems, project budgeting, and earned value analysis.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams ensuring cost accuracy and project alignment.
• Competence in evaluating contractor submissions and claims with a focus on cost impact.
• Excellent reporting abilities, including preparing executive summaries and detailed cost performance reports.
• Familiarity with relevant cost accounting standards and auditing processes.
