Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Estimator with 5 to 6 years of hands-on experience specializing in steel fabrication and erection projects. The role involves preparing precise cost estimates, evaluating technical documents, and supporting the tendering process for large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

The Estimator will review requests for quotations (RFQs), drawings, specifications, and scope details related to steel fabrication, structural works, and erection activities. You will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and quantity take-offs based on project drawings. Analyzing project requirements such as material needs, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services is essential. You will also obtain and assess quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, while coordinating closely with engineering and project teams to prepare techno-commercial proposals. Identifying potential cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities is part of the role. Ensuring that all estimates comply with client requirements, industry standards, and specific project specifications—including clients like SABIC, MA’ADEN, and ARAMCO—is critical. Participating in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and technical discussions, maintaining cost databases, and supporting the smooth handover of projects to execution teams are additional duties.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 5 to 6 years’ experience in estimation for steel fabrication and erection projects
• Solid understanding of structural steel, piping, and industrial fabrication processes
• Familiarity with Saudi market standards and major industrial clients such as SABIC, MA’ADEN, and ARAMCO
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong skills in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software
• Knowledge of material costs, fabrication rates, erection methodologies, welding, NDT, and surface treatments
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication abilities
• Capability to manage multiple tenders and work effectively under tight deadlines

Preferred Skills

• Experience with shutdown and turnaround (TA) projects
• Basic knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP and procurement portals
• Familiarity with Primavera scheduling software at a basic level

Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based but requires regular site visits to monitor project scopes and support estimating accuracy. Candidates should be prepared to work under pressure, particularly during tender deadline periods and project mobilization phases.
