Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Procurement Officer to manage and streamline our purchasing process in Khobar. This role involves overseeing the entire procurement cycle, from sourcing to supplier management, to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement within construction, engineering, or international projects.

Key Responsibilities

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing the full procurement cycle including sourcing suppliers, issuing RFQs and RFPs, evaluating proposals, negotiating contract terms, and issuing purchase orders. You will identify reliable suppliers to secure the best prices while maintaining quality and delivery standards. Coordination with different departments such as project, engineering, and warehouse teams will be essential to meet material requirements effectively. Additionally, monitoring supplier performance and building strong vendor relationships will be key aspects of the role. Keeping procurement activities compliant with company guidelines, tracking orders, and maintaining accurate procurement documentation and reports are also integral duties.

Requirements

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of procurement experience, preferably in construction, engineering, or overseas projects, is required. Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential to succeed in this role, along with a clear understanding of procurement procedures and contract terms. The ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines is crucial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, is necessary, while experience with ERP systems is highly advantageous. Fluency in written and spoken English is required, and knowledge of additional languages is considered a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working on projects in the Middle East or other international settings will be highly regarded. Familiarity with the local supplier market in Saudi Arabia and strong analytical skills will enhance your effectiveness in this role. Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to handling procurement challenges are desirable traits.
